During the past 10 years, Perceptics has supplied several hundred lanes of LPR equipment for use across the northern and southern borders of the United States Our management and technical staff have built valued relationships with our customers and have developed a detailed understanding of installation and operational requirements. Building on this knowledge and these established relationships, we have been able to maintain an open line of communication as a trusted advisor to the customer and have delivered system enhancements as requested.
As the prime contractor for a program in Canada, Perceptics is providing License Plate Reader and proximity card systems across the U.S./Canada border. These installations are in addition to the more than 150 LPR lanes of equipment previously provided to a Canadian Customer and in operation along that border.
In addition to North American applications, our LPR systems have been supplied within Singapore for use along their border with Malaysia. These systems read both the retro-reflective and non-retro-reflective license plates on vehicles entering or leaving the country of Singapore, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which can easily total more than 40,000 vehicles per day. This application supports dedicated lanes for passenger vehicles, commercial cargo trucks, and motorcycle traffic.
Additionally, several lanes of our Container Code Readers and LPR systems have been installed in Korea. These systems read two lines of both Latin and Korean Hangul characters of variable character heights.
Perceptics also has approximately 100 LPR systems at 14 tolling points along the free-flow toll road of Melbourne City Link in Melbourne, Australia. These LPR systems provide complete coverage across all lanes and shoulders at each tolling point and provide license plate capture at highway speeds with real-time optical character recognition processing for toll violation enforcement. During peak traffic flow, vehicle counts may reach up to 2,400 vehicles per hour, per lane. Perceptics is the only company to have installed over 1,000 LPR systems that actually read the license plate alphanumeric characters rather than just collect an image.
